HIATT USA INTRODUCES NEW COLORS FOR HANDCUFFS
New Colors Assist in Classification of Suspects

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – January 12, 2007 – Hiatt USA, a leading manufacturer of handcuffs serving the military and law enforcement markets, announces today the addition of six new color-coded handcuffs to its product line to assist criminal justice professionals in the classification of detained suspects. These new handcuff colors aid in the identification of threat levels, medical conditions, ages and a myriad of other conditions.

Made of Gorecote, these highly durable handcuffs are available in pink, purple, green, blue, yellow and orange.

Hiatt’s color-coded handcuffs feature a unique shackle that can be back-loaded for faster cuffing, include 18 teeth with a three bar retaining system, a leaf spring double locking mechanism for added strength, True Swing Technology that ensures the swing arm is balanced and centered so it consistently locks into the center of the shackle, and BOSS rivets which are larger on the outside than the inside making it very difficult to defeat the lock.
